Exhibition and Conference Overview

The Chinese American Art Faculty Association (CAAFA) is honored to be invited to join Guangdong International Art Week - International Modern and Contemporary Art Special Exhibition at Nanfeng International Convention and Exhibition Center, Guangzhou, China | May 16-19, 2025. The conference will take place during the same period and will be recognized as the 7th Chinese American Art Faculty Association (CAAFA) Conference and Exhibition.

This event features an International Contemporary Art Public Welfare Exhibition and an International Academic Forum on 'AI & Art & Future Talent Cultivation,' to be hosted at Guangzhou Art Academy. The joint event aims to bridge Eastern and Western artistic traditions and creative fields, exploring transnational, cross-cultural, and interdisciplinary practices in the age of digital and artificial intelligence.

Participants will witness how college professors transform personal research into boundless contemporary works, inspiring educators and students to explore creative possibilities beyond cultural and disciplinary infinite boundaries. This year's theme encourages artists and educators to reflect on the synergy between art and technology, cultural fusion, and collaborative creative processes .

Submission Categories

Presentation Submission:

  • Submit a brief proposal (maximum 1 page) in a Word document.

  • Presentation duration: 15-20 minutes.

  • Topics may include interdisciplinary research, creative methodologies, AI and art integration, and culturally inclusive teaching practices .

Exhibition Submission:

  • Up to two artworks per participant .

  • Artwork size: Maximum 100x100 cm .

  • Submit high-resolution JPG images (5 MB max each).

  • Label files as: WorkTitle_Lastname_Firstname .

  • Provide a work list including Artist Name, Title, Media, Dimensions, Date, and Project Statement.

  • Exhibition Opening: May 16, 2025

  • Exhibition Closing & Reception: May 19, 2025

  • Artwork Pick-up & Deinstallation: May 19, 2025

  • Return Shipping: May 20-26, 2025

Shipping & Delivery

  • Artwork must arrive between April 20-30, 2025 .

  • Shipping expenses and return labels are the artist's responsibility.

  • Works should be securely packed in reusable containers with repacking instructions.

Eligibility

Open to all overseas Chinese Art & Design faculty, scholars, and visiting professors in higher education across North America and beyond.

Conference Fees

There are no conference fees ; fees are covered by the organizer.

Curatorial Process

Upon receiving submissions, the curating team will review and select artworks based on their standards.
