The Center for Chinese Art at William Paterson University cooperates with the Department of Art, the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences of William Paterson University, and Chinese-American Art Faculty Association (CAAFA) to host “New Trends and New Journey: The 5th National Symposium of Chinese-American Art Faculty form November 8-11, 2023.
The conference will include sharing and exchanging academic ideas and works, group discussions and thematic speeches. The keynote speaker is Dr. Natacha Chuk, a media theorist, researcher from NYC. The theme of her speech is “the potential and challenges of artificial intelligence in academia”. The participants are Chinese-American art professors from various universities in North America. They are not only art educators and artists at higher educational institutions in US but also in China. Their works and seminar themes reflect their cross-cultural experience, creative vision and the integration of the essence from their cultural and artistic background and perspectives.
Eligibility: This call is open to all Chinese-American art faculty who currently teach or visit at North American universities and colleges.
Registration deadline: by/before September 25, 2023
Call for Proposal: CAAFA Organization Committee cordially invites proposals for individual presentations and panel discussions. After initial review of all submissions, the Committee will select and determine the order of members’ presentations.
